I'm experiencing the same problem as what's described here:
https://www.tweaking.com/forums/index.php?topic=2748.0I'm using Win 8.1 Home 64x. I only found out about the problem yesterday when I realized that Onenote kept asking for a password, and one solution involved accessing the credentials manager.
I tried Windows Repair, and it didn't fix it. I also tried the ff. using an admin account;
1. checked to see if RPC and other services are set at automatic and running;
2. checked RPGEdit to see if the start variable for these services are set at 2;
3. sfc /scannow;
4. checked to see that file and print sharing and IPV6 are enabled in the network adapter properties;
5. made sure remote assistance was allowed in the firewall;
6. reset Internet Explorer;
7. uninstalled the antivirus;
8. tried safe mode;
9. tried another account;
10. tried clean boot;
11. system restore using a point at 11/10; and
12. used a full backup from 11/5 (the earliest I have).
The only thing that fixed it was a Windows refresh, but that means that I will have to reinstall and reconfigure many apps, etc.
For now, I restored the whole system, with the problem still taking place.
If there is a way for me to fix this problem without having to do a refresh, I'd appreciate it.
