« on: April 21, 2018, 11:15:17 am »
Hi guys have Internet Explorer, Explorer, Crashing on me and Windows Live Mail Crashes/Freezes when i send mail (i can receive mail no problem) Ran SFC and it found corrupt files but cannot fix them, says to read the cbs.log file but the sucker is huge and i cannot understand it. Have run the tweaking program. Still not good. I just download the latest version and am trying it again. Any suggestions?

When I have problems with IE I normally reset it to defaults or run it without add-ons.

To run it without add-ons go Start - type iexplore -extoff and press enter.

Click on the home page icon to browse normally and try your emails, but the sfc reporting it is unable to repair some files could be related or coincidental.

Run another sfc /scannow and then SFCFix.exe.

This will produce its own report which you can copy & paste into the reply box.

I am assuming that is is to do with my video driver.

Just installed the latest video driver and it seems that was the problem :) Just sent a email and Windows Explorer has not crashed.

It's surprising what a bad video driver can cause without it being obvious.

That DLL that SFCFix.exe ID'd seems to be a bit ambiguous as to what it belongs to.

How did you determine it was your video driver ?

Can you perform another sfc /scannow to see if it comes back clean ?
