Windows Repair Free completed now slow Laptop
« on: January 19, 2017, 02:20:31 pm »
I have only had my new laptop a new week however the image they have used for the OS had this very annoying problem where the file explorer would open every single time the laptop was booted I had tried many things to stop this from happening however nothing was working to solve the problem nothing was showing up in the start up folder or anything for the file explorer shortcuts.

I was then recommended to use the tweaking software for windows which I followed the instructions on the software backing up and all that first and once the software had done it's thing I turned it off and on again and great news the file explorer had gone when booted.....However now I am finding that sins doing this tweaking it has made my brand new £1000+ laptop slow it seems to stutter all the time now I am not sure why this is? Nothing else has changed apart from using the software to fix my problem which it did.

Has anyone got any ideas why my new laptop is now struggling with the small things like opening Malwarebytes, chrome, or even switching taps between chrome? I cant understand what could have caused this?

Thank you for anyone that can help me with this issue

alright lets see what you have starting up. so first off go ahead and open up power shell with admin privileges copy and paste this in power shell its going to out put everything that starts up on your computer

(remember this needs to be run as an admin in power shell not Command prompt.)

Code: [Select]
Get-CimInstance Win32_StartupCommand | Select-Object Name, command, Location, User | Format-List
After you get the list to generate go ahead and highlight it press ctrl-c to copy it and paste it on this post so i can see whats slowing you down on start up.

I  have not no I have not had chance to run it twice in what way would this help maybe? Could it maybe be that I need to use a defrag on my hardrive and also run trim on my OS SSD to see if these help? if not then I may have to just refresh from the backup made

i've noticed that sometimes not all the repairs work on the first go and running the repairs twice on some systems fixes the issue.

you know that all these repairs are 95 percent registry related so if you go to the backup tool and reload the registry to before the repairs it will save you so much time then using a complete backup.
