Question about Registry Backup versions
« on: April 02, 2016, 09:17:25 am »
I just installed the Simple & Advanced System Tweakers to see what they did. Was most curious to note that they all use different versions of Registry Backup. Fifteen years as a systems analyst compel me to ask the question - -

Current Registry backup version is 3.4.1.

Simple System Tweaker uses version 2.0.0.

Advanced System Tweaker uses version 1.6.9.

So...

1. Should I use the newest version (3.4.1) with the Tweakers, or is there some reason to use the versions that are bundled with them?

2. Why not have the Tweakers install the latest Registry Backup, or look to see if it's already installed and avoid the redundancy?

Thanks,

1. Go with the most recent v3.4.1

2. Good point, perhaps Shane will consider this.

I would install the Backup in its own folder, whether bundled with the Tweakers or standalone. That way you don't wind up with three copies of the same program. ("Waste! Waste!" as a former boss would say.)

Just my 1/50th of a dollar.
