Hi,
One of my friends pc, if using resource monitor shows only blank when he clicks on disk.
Shane, are there anything in your windows repair, to correct this. As this appears to be strange, that even system is not shown in disk.
process tab did show process, but disk is showing blank. Would you try to include a fix for this. The activity is shown in the side map, moving.
Is there a fix for it. if not please include in your all in repair. Thanks
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

This is an oldish article with suggestions that some have found to have worked and some not.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-update/windows-7-resource-monitor-not-working-no-data/bf2b3275-e543-4f68-982b-af6695fc3d3d

Although I doubt it would make any difference, are you accessing the monitor through Task Manager or from Start and typing resmon and pressing enter ?

Hi, i tried for him by resmon.exe in run command, by clicking in perfmon.exe and get that monitor link there, and also by accessing it thro accessories.
He could now access the activities, thro clicking select column in task manager and ticking available boxes there. But when he clicks RM, it gives blank in disk tab.
I think Julian or Shane may attempt to have a fix for that RM which is mainly used in diagnostic analysis of computer usage. If it is included in AIO then it may be  an additional fix in his software.
How these things are affected is shrouded in mystery. Why any virus was asked to touch these accessories.
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

Does a sfc /scannow report anything untoward or is there anything in Event Viewer with the same time stamp as when accessing resmon ?

hi, Boggin event viewer was not working.
But temporarily this problem resolved by using task manager and in the view menu, by selecting "select column" and include i/o check boxes and command prompt to locate the actual path of process or disk activity.
But i want to know whether copying the same file from the same version and copy to the same folder as resmon. exe would solve the problem. As normally missing or corrupted fixes is also attempted by downloading the same from installation dvd, by using 7zip, to locate the same folder in the installation dvd and copying the same files.
I am having doubts  that this works for execute files, unlike dlls, or any sys files.
