problem after downloading panda antivirus pro 2015

Hi,
                      I am member in some of the forums, which softnonic is one. As birth day gift, i was given a 6 months free access to the panda anti virus pro 2015. I thought of ignoring, but anyhow getting free pro version prompted me to try. OK. I downloaded installed it after uninstalling avast, my regular av. Then came the trouble. I could not get any site in internet, even tweaking.com. By clicking this site, the back and forth was swirling but would not get me the site. I tried so much times and everytime i was greeted with the problem accessing the site message from firefox.
                                I could not uninstall it as it hanged in the middle. I got rid of it by restoring the system to a previous date. The avast did not work. Then i installed it after using their avastclear.exe. I had a offline downloader of avast of 145 mb which installed in few minutes.
Why this is so? do any body experienced the above. Now i am ok with avast. The avast av free allow all the websites in few clicks and there is no problem in downloading. What is the reason Shane sir

Avast has a built in firewall driver, when you uninstalled it, it didnt uninstall correctly, so the system couldnt get on the net because of the avast firewall still being on the system and not working right.

The avast cleanup tool removed it and got avast out of the way and is why it fixed it.

Hi, Thanks for the replies. It is new to me that avast has firewall driver. Shane, do you mean to say that avast has a hidden firewall like windows firewall and allows it along with it. When i installed the panda, it simply ate up the windows firewall, by  turning off it.
                         From avast web forum, i heard that avast does not have firewall in their free version.
                                Firefox warns me of some avast online security of modifying ff . Pl throw some more light on this subject.
                                   But firmly believe in your views regarding avast firewall. There is no settings seem to be visible regarding firewall in avast.

Avast still installs a firewall driver in their free version, or a type of firewall driver, it is there so called network protection, just in the free version you dont get much control over it.
