reg backup
« on: May 24, 2012, 10:16:14 am »

I was surfing for a reg back up I found this article where the author says this will backup the entire registry for Win 7. To my knowledge this has never been used to backup the entire registry prior to Win 7 and I am leery about it doing so for Win 7.
Please let me know if this is true or not?
Thank you

Oh god no lol Using the Registry Editor doesn't backup/export everything.

That is not the correct way at all! The best way is the volume shadow copy service. Trust me on this one, I had to research the crap out of it lol

Almost all good backup programs out there use it to backup files and the registry files themselves.

I know you are worried about using my backup program in beta but I would love to have you as a tester.

Why? Because what better feedback then from a user who doesn't know how to use it? This will help me know what to put in the help files and to make changes to the program to help new users.

The backup process is very safe. So consider it. :cheesy:

I have had it running on all 4 machines here at home daily at system startup and so far everything works great.

I didn't think the article was correct, so thank you.
As far as me for a testor, give me just a bit of time.
A lot of irons in the fire right now, truly.
I'll be around and take it for a ride soon. I promise.
