Avast program update

Hi I tried to update the Avast to the latest program but will not, it says it is the latest version but it isn't.

I don't want to uninstall then reinstall due to slow computer.

Please can you help?

If you have Avast Free 2015 then you have the latest version, but why not just create a restore point then download it on top of what you have to see what happens.

Hi, Try avast off line install. you download that from fast computer and then install in your computer. The update if any will be minimal in this regard and it is safe. The latest free version is avast free2015

I stopped using avast a while ago. But when ever I had trouble with it I always had to use their removal utility to properly yank it from the system and then install it fresh after a reboot. Otherwise with the huge amount of things that are tied together in it, things never worked like they should.
