hello there,
in my windows 8 my audio system is not working as shown at the screenshots
I have tried the tweak windows repair and a lot of other methods but nothing ...

please help me

I've heard of AVG thinking the audio files and others were a virus and quarantined them to the vault which caused this sort of error - which AV program are you running ?

I did find where AVG had caused it as well

I know that the avg had deleted these files but I deleted a mmy quarrantine files so I dont know what to do now.
I heard of someone that the tweaking windows repair would replace the missing files and my audio will be playing again but it didnt.
Did I do something wrong? is there any other way?
I am sorry If I had to tell you these information at my first post!

It's possible that reinstalling the Audio drivers either from the computer support or vendor site could reinstate those files, depending upon what they were.

What does a sfc /scannow run in the Command Prompt (Admin) report ?

If it reports that it is unable to repair some files, run the command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and then run the sfc /scannow command again to see what it reports then or if either fix the audio.

indeed the first scan I ran found some corrupted files that it wasnt able to repair, I ran the Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command and then the scan again and everything was ok. but it didnt help.
the same promblem still ramains!

Have you downloaded the audio drivers yet.

Your restore points prior to the audio going down could also help, but you will need to look out for AVG taking those files out again if successful, but this time don't delete the quarantine, or just get rid of AVG and use another AV program. http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en_US&urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG

Yes my audio drivers are downloaded and working properly
the avg wont delete these files again

Normally if services are corrupted, then you have to replace those files by renaming audioserv with audioserv. bak and then try to copy the same file from the same system. I think that the location of this service is in
HKLM/system/current controlset/services/audiosrv
from your friend having the same operation system. Say if you have windows 8 and 32 bit, it should be same OS. Hope you understand what i meant. If you have deleted quarantined items , it is once for all gone. Why using avg when avast is the best thing.It does not delete audio drivers.

I cant get to the locationv HKLM/system/current controlset/services/audiosrv
when I get at "services" the option "audiosrv" isnt there as you can see in my screenshot

hi, Ok. Since i am not having windows 8, i could not search the service. Also this would have deleted by your AVG already.
Did you download the latest audio drivers. If any audio drivers are not working properly, this may also result in audio services from working. what is your audio drivers site. Please download the latest full audio drivers from your vendors site. not only exe file.
This is definitely because your avg have quarantined and you removed this from the computer itself. Please see the services in the HKLM route in my post, and in the services folder this file usually reside in windows 7. If this is not there, then you have to copy the same file by this method in the given link

Export to usb from the friends source this file to your usb and then merge it as indicated. Your problem will be solved.

My laptop uses contexant drivers and they are up to date as you see
I think what I have to do is what you told me prior
to copy the services.msc file from my friends computer. thats the most logical one
But I dont know where to find it

hi, I do not mean services. msc. It is a run command. You should copy audiosrv file from your friend and then merge with your registry. Got the point. Services.msc is a command that will get you to services tab.Did you see the link, on how to export it to your file from other source such as pendrive

Then try your restore points.

I would expect that file to be in either Windows\System32\Drivers or for a 64 bit system, Windows\SysWOW64\Drivers but it could be dependent upon the make of Audio adapter, as I was unable to find a file by that name on my Win 7 laptop using Realtek.

You can use the search function on Win 8 which should be able to locate it on the computer you are using to copy it from if it's there.

I think that he deleted his quarantined file which would have deleted his audiosrv file. Hence the solution, other than system restore is replacing a new one.

HKLM/system/current controlset/services/
If it is not there, then it was deleted inadvertently by the AVG, when it quarantined

I downloaded an audiosrv.ddl file from the internet(http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/A/audiosrv.dll/5.1.2600.2180/download.html) and tried to replace the audiosrv.ddl file that was at the path C:windows:system32 but a warn appears telling me that I need authorization to that folder. I tried it through my administrator account but the same

Hi, dan,
I meant from the system. As audiosrv file you copied from internet may cause harm to your computer rather than curing it. Now, as it has not allowed , it is safe. Do not copy from internet the files. It may be a excutable , but the audiosrv files would have bee a created folder from the installation.
To go to the path, Just go to start menu, type regedit and then access the path from there . It is in the Services folder in the path i mentioned in my post. Are you still having AVG. First remove it and replace with free avast, which does not quarantines window file as suspicious.

Bah, I meant to answer the forum posts this morning after I dropped the kids off at school, instead I got called by a customer and had to go fix some machines. It is now 9 PM and I need to get to bed soon so I can take them to school in the morning lol

So tomorrow morning, hoping I dont get called again, I will double check what those files where exactly and simply grab them from one of my Windows installs in vmware and post them for you. I will also post a reg tweak that will give you the option of taking ownership of a file from the right click menu, that will let you replace the file
