usb mic and headset wont work on windows 8

wow so i have a USB mic headset and the damm thing not working. wont even show up on the audio controls of windows 8.1. All rest of my usb stuff appears too be working. this is a brand new headset mic. dont know what else too do. its suppose too automatically show up

One way to test if it is the mic or not is to plug it into another system and see if it shows up. If it doesnt on a different system then you know the mic is bad. If it does show up on another computer then we know to check on your system :-)
