Windows 7 Reliability Monitor unknown module error
« on: September 05, 2013, 05:11:12 pm »
Hello, and good evening all, just wondering if anybody would have a guess as to what I might be dealing with here. I've got Tweaking Registry Backup set to run on schedule under system account at start up, w/one per day, without any apparent problems present with the backup. But in checking Windows reliability monitor an unknown faulting module error appears at each scheduled backup. Event issue attached:
 Description
Faulting application name: TweakingRegistryBackup.exe, version: 1.6.0.5, time stamp: 0x522151c9
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x001adba8
Faulting process id: 0xabc
Faulting application start time: 0x01ceaa13c7a3e4ec
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Tweaking.com\Registry Backup\TweakingRegistryBackup.exe
Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: 31db0414-1607-11e3-b347-0022681e7c71

Any recommendations, Thank You in advance.

Odd, I am on Windows 7 64bit and I have 0 crashes.

What settings is your DEP set to?

Hmmm, I noticed my DEP is set for just essential programs and services, and my UAC is set to never. I recently aquired this older IBM T400 I'm having this happen on.     Chris

OK so DEP isnt the problem.

Does the program run at all or does it crash as soon as you try to open it?

Yea, aside from the module issue everything appears to be created as intended (backups), and the program functions, (opens/closes), without fault....this IBM T400 is the only one that produces the anomaly. I've been running TRB on three other laptops (IBM R51, Toshiba L645, Acer 5517),and a desktop HP quad core, all with W7 HP and Ultimate for sometime with no problems.   Chris

OK so to confirm, it is making that backups, but seems to be crashing when it is closing itself?

As long as the backups are being created that is good :-)

Do you have all the Updates for Windows installed?

Also my program is written in old school vb 6. It could be a runtime file is different on your system. I could try installing the runtimes again to see if it helps.
