There must be registry keys WMI needs. But I dont know what they are and MS has no info on them either.

A repair install might be the next best thing (Instead of a fresh install)

Hi Shane

I used a back up of this drive to put on another HDD. I then did a repair installation, but I ended up with a handful of programs installed and everything else missing. This might just have gone wrong on this occasion (Don't know why). I remember many years ago, I used to do this quite often and my original installation would be untouched, ie desktop icons programs etc, mind you there was a lot less on the PC.

I will put another copy back on a different HDD and try again.

I will get back to you with the result.
