What size is your monitor? I can see what the recommend resolution is for it :-)

I measure it corner to corner and it is 21'

It is still stretched. I have taken two photos. The one where you can see it is square is the Auto setting and the one that is wide and stretched is the Wide setting. I have done everything I can. In the part where you change the screen resolution I have gone to settings and advanced and see I can fiddle with the DPI setting, but I can't seem to get that right either. it is like in the wide setting it is stretched from the side, instead of being stretched from each corner to make the resolution even, instead of long (sorry does that make sense?). Thanks for all the help.

The closest I can get it to is 1600x1200 but the font is so small I can barely see it and the left side of the scree is hidden.  SO when I look now, I can't see the back arrow.

So I had a thought. It seems like I need to get my screen on landscape not up and down. Does that make sense. On my laptop it has that option. Is this something I can do on my PC?

Yeah you can control the position of it. If it isnt in the screen settings then it might be somewhere else, on some store bought computers you will have an icon in the try by the clock, like for intel and it will have a rotation option.

I cant find it. There is something wrong again. I have done every virus scan and none of them are catching it. Do you know of any online ones that would do a clean sweep. It is freezing again and taking forever to load, I think I will just have to take it in.

the one I see when I am on Facebook is this ads to browse one. it regenerates the words add to browse over and over. It says go into extensions but there is nothing there and when I look in my add/remove programs I can't see anything suspicious there. Maybe I will re-run the ones you posted earlier now that my system seems to be working better. Are there any other downloads I can try. I hate not being able to figure things out

Have you tried to let the monitor auto adjust yet? It should have an option like that in the menu for the monitor it self.

You might want to try setting it to 1920x1080 in windows, then use the auto screen function on the monitor itself. This has work for me in the past, not saying it will work for you, but it's worth a shot.

Something is really messed up on the system. Have you tried a repair install of Windows yet?

Hi,    Have you been able to load the internet pages previously. Have you tried system restore option in windows to revert to a previous day, when you were not having this problem. The menu is available, in accessories, system tools , and system restore. The problem would be solved.
Have you downloaded any torrent downloads. This may also affect internet settings. I experienced similarly and my internet would not load internet pages. So , I stopped downloading thro torrents.
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".
