If you could furnish your intel network card settings then shane will include. As such nvidia adapters are shown in example. Shane gave same tweaks for win 7 in the same page. You could try that instead to optimize the performance

Download and install Shane's Simple Internet Meter Lite http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-internet-meter-lite and then, with Simple Internet Meter Lite running, see which setting in "Flow Control" gives the best results. Test using a decent size file, say 100MB plus.
