Make sure that the file Sxs.dll is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.

Have you tried your restore points to prior the error and have you checked Event Viewer for time stamped Event IDs which could give the reason for the corruption.

The error occurs since the beginning of the installation of Windows, so nothing can be restored !!!

It can relate to another program, so what else have you installed - or did it occur immediately after the install ?

What way is it affecting the computer and does Event Viewer or Reliability history have anything for it.

You could try a Repair install should the first one been a bad one.

Well, as you have an install disk, boot up with that - if you are presented with an inverse window with Windows Setup (EMS Enabled) - press enter and when you get to the splash screen select Repair your Computer to navigate to the Recovery Environment and select Command Prompt.

Enter bcdedit |find "osdevice" and using the partition letter that gives, enter (assuming C ) -

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\Windows

exit (when complete to close the cmd window)

Remove the disk then Restart.

That's a Pipe symbol before find (uppercase of \ ) and there's a space before each forward slash.

I'm sure you can spare ~15 - 20mins for that.

So it was caused by another program and Windows would have created a restore point when it was installed.

You must remember that I do not have too many restore points on an SSD, the old points are automatically deleted.
Uninstalling an app solves the problem.
However, I would like to use this application (the best tool defragments the system files in comparison with other tools)

You don't defrag a SSD - TRIM auto takes care of that - have you checked to see if it is enabled ?

I know, I do not defragment an SSD, the program has its own "Optimize" TRIM.
I do not know, I'll have to again install the application and better look at the options.
Or maybe you install a trial version and check options of the program?

TRIM feature of the SSD is supported and enabled for optimal performance ..

Windows Disk Defragmenter - extremely slow analyzes. Sorry, I do not want to wait an ~hour for analysis of each partition.

I don't sit and watch mine - I normally set it away when I'm off to do something else other than sat at my laptop, so that isn't a problem.

Windows Defrag. Analyzed drives and shows:
0% fragmentation.

Other applications Tool Defrag show several percent level of fragmentation (data and MFT)
