disk error check program
« on: November 05, 2011, 07:09:50 pm »
Hi Shane

I used your disk error check program for all my drives. C drive was successful but my external drives were not. How do i cancel the scheduled check? The registry is already set to autocheck autochck *

The program just sets the dirty bit flag on the drive to tell windows to scan it.
All you need to do is unset the flag.

When windows scans the disk it is suppose to unset the dirty bit.

Is it not undoing it and it keeps scanning the external drive?

I will get the how to for you.

In the mean time, did the error check fail or is windows having trouble?

You can also run the disk check on the external drive in windows, tell it to fix any problems and that should unset it as well.

I ran it from the tools tab in properties for each drive. That fixed everything for my external drives. Why is it always the simplest solutions I try last! lol
