I a CADer that at times I might have multi draws open and need to see what there are when I pass the mouse over the program icon. Some how it got it turn off and only show the text of the drawing, where it use to show a icon type pic of the drawings that are open up.

Do you mean that "Taskbar Thumbnail Live Preview" is missing? See picture!

First you can look here and see if this help you: http://www.askvg.com/how-to-turn-off-taskbar-thumbnail-live-previews-in-windows-7/
But change the value of DisablePreviewWindow to 0.
If you are new to changing things in the registry, make a backup first with this program: Tweaking.com - Registry Backup http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/registry_backup.html

If the first link didn't help you can take a look here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/52265-taskbar-thumbnail-previews-enable-disable.html

What version of Windows?

Some settings are in different spots, so which version are you on?

Acer LapTop 7560-Sb416/AMD APU/8G Memory = Windows 7 Home Prem(SP1) 64B (see my signature.)

I sure do like sevenforums tutorials. They take you the step in a great way. I feal very at easy in the modify the REG using there steps. :)))

I am still have been able to get Aero Peek to turn on because it's greyed out. I am going to try ACER support.

Again thanks for the great link to sevenforums  tutorials :) Now if I can only get reined errors I will be very happy camper for sure.

Ok on Windows 7 the service "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager" must be running in order for the preveiw to work. I just tested on my Windows 7 in vmware, I always tunr off "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager" because it is a horrible cpu hog, but when it is off you dont get the glass effect (Which I hate anyways) and you dont get the preview.

So check to make sure that service is running and set to automatic :-)
