 :angry: I can't be the only person in the whole world dealing with this!!! Shane I am the guy that sent you the email about this. I can't connect to the iTunes store. So I cant sync and tend to my extensive music library. I used the all in one windows tool and it has done wonders for my computer. One thing I forgot to mention is I did have to work on the registry settings for my CD/DVD Drive. The link is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3299

For the sake of getting more eyes on the problem and documenting the matter I will include the email sent to [email protected]:

"Hello Shane,
My name is Juan. Your site has been tremendous help. I was ready to fire my CPU out a window! Blue screen of Death, Alureon virus that would shut down Norton 360, all sorts of problems. The awesome site you and your fellow tech heads have put together have enabled me to send Norton packing and fix my own problems! Avast, Malwarebytes, Super Anti-Spyware and last but certainly not least your all in one Windows repair tool! I can't thank you enough, you guys ROCK!

On to the iTunes thing; after this huge overhaul the only thing I can't seem to fix is an error that popped up afterwards. Unknown error #80092013. I was able to get a previous version of iTunes to work and connect to the store, but my new iPod will not sync with the old software. I will attach the diagnostic report and maybe you can interpret it a lot easier than I can. I do think it has to do with how the security certificates are being handled. I downloaded Safari for Windows and had similar problems connecting to trusted sites that would work fine on Firefox or Chrome. Of course, Apple tech is no help, after doing some research on the apple community web site they charge you to "help", give  you the run around and blame Microsoft. I'm not interested in the blame game, I'm searching for solutions! So many people like to complain instead of being pro-active.

Now, Shane did respond about the firewall conflict in the attached diagnostic report, my response was as follows: That's the funny thing though, when I go to the firewall settings through the control panel (as an administrator) iTunes IS enabled as far as the system is concerned! It's bananas!"


This is my first post here, I hope this was not too long, please forgive a noob! Thank you for reading and thanks for any input.

Looks like itunes does use .net

The best way to repair .net is to completely yank it out of the system and install it fresh. I use this tool to do that

Spent some time working on the .NET Framework as suggested, No Dice! Do you have another suggestion?

Remove itunes, and any program that gets installed with it.

Then use this tool

To remove any left over things that might still be in the Windows installer. This way when you reinstall itunes the Windows installer will see everything as a new install and might fix the problem. The problem with the Windows installer is if it sees a program already installed it doesnt reinstall it, you have to make the Windows installer think it is a new install :-)

 :angry: Still getting the same message. I do have something new to add. when I was going through the un-install list and un-installed bonjour it asked me to close internet explorer and showed the same error code as iTunes: 0x80092013. I'm wondering if IE needs attention? I did use your IE tool but there definitely is something fishy going on. Some sites lately will not open. Green Dot for example and some ebay links via email. I tried to re-create the bonjour message to get a screen shot but the iTunes update is now version 11.1.4 and it did not happen again when I uninstalled it again.  :cry:

For some it is a AV problem. For others it was a cert file under the user profile that was the problem.

So to find out if the problem is under the current profile, make a new user profile and try itunes from there just to see how it does :wink:

If it didn't work under a new user profile then that means it is something system wide and not related to a setting for the current user or the files it has stored.

I searched on that error and it seems to not point to certain problem but is just a error that can be cause by a large number of things. Thats what makes it hard to trace down.
