Enable fallback backup method
« on: August 27, 2015, 10:53:47 am »
I've only just started using this program and I'm still getting used to it.

From what I've been reading I thought the best backup method is 'Volume Shadow Copy', but default is the 'fallback' method?

Should I be using the 'Volume Shadow Copy'?

How do I set it to make a backup automatically when I start my laptop?

There doesn't seem to be many options, but is there options I should be thinking about using?

Thanks

Go to "Settings" > "Create Schedule", this will run a registry backup at user logon.

"Have the schedule run under the system account if the current account does n't have administrator rights, or if you want the schedule to run at system startup and not when the current user logs on".

I think that Shane set the fallback method as default, so that users who had problems with the VSS could still backup their registry prior to using WR. Personally I set mine to use the VSS.

Thanks for the reply.
I've unticked 'fallback method' so now should be using 'Volume shadow copy'.
I've set it to create a backup at user logon.
What does 'WR' stand for?

WR = (Tweaking's) Windows Repair (All in One).

While the program saves my registry, can I use the laptop as normal, or should I wait until it has finished?

It only takes seconds, just use as normal.
