How to replace package files?
« on: July 31, 2015, 07:57:46 am »
I use Windows 7.  After a pre-scan, I got the following message:

Problems were found with the packages files, these files need to be replaced (These mainly only effect installing Windows Updates.)
The SFC (System File Checker) doesn't scan and replace some of these files, so you may need to replace them manually.
These files do not keep the repairs from working, you may still run the repairs in the program.

I ran a Windows Repair yesterday with an older version and then updated to v3.3.1 when I found out this morning I was not updated.

I am attempting to fix problems with attaching files to emails, and lack of ability to update programs.  I've been getting an error message stating "Windows Installer service could not be accessed.  Contact your support personnel to verify that it is properly registered and enabled." whenever I attempt to update programs.

Thanks in advance for your advice.  Jay

Did the pre-scan list any files at all?

You can also not worry about the pre-scan and make sure to run all the repair sin the program and to run them from windows safe mode, make sure it does a registry backup first just in case anything has a hiccup :-)

I am curious if the blank results still happen in my new version.
