DNS Problem
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:38:45 pm »
Ran the Tweaking.com all in one Windows Repair but it did not fix my problem. Basically, my PC (Windows 7 Pro) boots up fine in safe mode and I can access the internet. When I boot up in normal mode, I get an error message that says "DNS server isn't responding"  and I cannot access the internet.

Work your way through these steps, but I favour booting up into Safe Mode with Networking rather than disabling an AV program as it will be isolated in that mode. http://atechjourney.com/dns-server-not-responding-error-fix.html/

Using your restore points back to when it was working can also resolve.

Sounds like your AV/Firewall software might be blocking it, have you tried uninstalling the AV to see if it starts working after? (Disabling it doesnt always work as some AV's never truly disable)

Have you also scanned your system yet for infections to make sure it isnt something like that getting in the way? I just started using adwcleaner and so far it works very well. (You will need to be on the net for it to download its updates, so safe mode with networking would be a good idea)
