SOLVED


Hello,

Since the dozens of Windows updates on October 15th I can't create a hot image; use Paragon Hard  Disk Manager, no problem before that. The error code is 0x11112, VSS specific error.

I've checked that VSS service is running and set to start 'Automatic'; run sfc/scannow and Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth as well as MS' utility to re-register VSS in vain.

How to fix it?

To determine if this has been caused by the WUs, you would need to uninstall all of them and try the image after reinstalling each one until the fault reoccurs.

What do the Dism /CheckHealth and ScanHealth commands report ?

You can see if my vss repair in my windows repair tool might help. But I am curious if the problem is with vss directly or not.

Download my registry backup program and have it do a backup, it will try to use vss first and see if it is able to make a registry backup, if vss fails it will use the fall back method. If it fails then we know the problem is with vss.

Thank you so much Shane, your repair program helped. I'm sorry not to have run it before turning to the forum.

May I take this opportunity to ask you about a former issue. The shortcuts from start to run a program as administrator don't work. I can run so directly from the exe files though. The new version of your repair program may help, I don't know however which point to choose.
