Hi Boggin,
Apologies for getting back so late. I attempted both those methods you mentioned to no avail, but it's okay as I've reinstalled Windows, (something I was planning on doing since my laborious upgrade to 2004), and everything seem to be okay now, but thanks for your help nonetheless.

Hi guys,
I purchased Windows Repair Pro and wanted to know if it can fix missing icon problems.
For some reason unknown to me, recently my Windows Security Centre Icon that appears in the Task bar has disappeared. When I boot it will appear for half a second, then a vertical white bar will flash in the task bar and then my Security Icon will disappear and I can't get it back. I don't know what to do short of reinstalling the OS. Any help appreciated.

Hi Boggins,
I'm running the repair program just to make a registry backup in case there is a future problem, there is nothing wrong with my pc at the moment. I used to use Tweaking's stand alone registry backup program but then noticed that that particular feature is integrated into the full Repair program so thought it would be better to have the full Repair program installed instead of just the Registry program.

Hi Boggin,
Basically every two-three years I clean install windows, make an image backup to an external hardrive and then backup the registry using your Windows Repair tool for extra safety. The media creation tool that was available was the latest 1903 version. I'll do what you suggest and wait for a newer version of WR to come out.

Greetings,
I've just updated to Windows version 1903 and receive this error message at launch, so I'm assuming Windows Repair v4.4.9 isn't compatible with 1903. For added safety, whenever there is a major Windows update I use the handy Registry backup tool, yet I am currently loath to use it as I'm not sure whether the backup made will be effective because of this error.

I have a question regarding your Registry Backup program. If Enable Fallback Backup Method is checked will it do both a Volume Shadow Copy Backup and a Fallback Method Backup? The only reason I ask is that when I made a backup using your software I made two backups, one with the Fallback Method checked and one without it as I assumed if I made a backup with Fallback Method checked it would only make a Fallback Method Backup and not create a Volume Shadow Copy Backup method. Apologies if this sounds confusing.
