While the program saves my registry, can I use the laptop as normal, or should I wait until it has finished?

Go to "Settings" > "Create Schedule", this will run a registry backup at user logon.

"Have the schedule run under the system account if the current account does n't have administrator rights, or if you want the schedule to run at system startup and not when the current user logs on".

I think that Shane set the fallback method as default, so that users who had problems with the VSS could still backup their registry prior to using WR. Personally I set mine to use the VSS.
Thanks for the reply.
I've unticked 'fallback method' so now should be using 'Volume shadow copy'.
I've set it to create a backup at user logon.
What does 'WR' stand for?

I've only just started using this program and I'm still getting used to it.

From what I've been reading I thought the best backup method is 'Volume Shadow Copy', but default is the 'fallback' method?

Should I be using the 'Volume Shadow Copy'?

How do I set it to make a backup automatically when I start my laptop?

There doesn't seem to be many options, but is there options I should be thinking about using?

Thanks

So on my usb stick I should create a folder for the backups and have them saved to that folder?

- Yes, if you want to save the copy to the USB stick then you must change the place where the copy will be saved.
- You can use both versions at the same time. No problems should arise. But why use 2 versions at the same time ?
I was thinking about 'automatic updates' with the installed version, and having a backup on the usb stick aswell.

I was also thinking that there might be an option to save a backup on my computer aswell as the usb stick.

Hi

I have saved the portable version to a usb stick.

When I make an update do I have to adjust any settings on where the backup will be saved?

As I am using the portable version which is on a usb stick, will the backup be automatically saved to the usb stick, or will the backup still be saved on my computer's harddrive?

Is it a good idea to use both the portable and installer versions, as with the installed version I will get automatic registry updates?

Thanks
