Besides the unactivated windows I think this is solved. Updates have been going through, and I can finally use my mouse!!

So I reinstalled windows.

I however lost my product key. I got the copy from dreamspark (free for students) a year ago.
Will running windows updates before activation hurt anything?

I've put a ticket in with dreamspark to get an activation key. Twiddling my thumbs in the mean time haha

I ran Windows Repair (All in One) v2.7.5 with all but a few options selected.

I am going to try to do the repair install from my Windows 7 Disk tonight to see if that does anything.

Your tool did let me get 3 out of 6 updates through. The original culprit though, kb2800095, still stands in defiance.

I backed up everything before doing it, and plan to again if I run the tool again.

Thanks,

Matt

Since 6/11/14 I have been trying to resolve this.
The update was released  on 6/10/14.

Shane if you can fix this it would be aces.

Here's the run down.

Downloads, installs, says restart required
The screen reads configuring windows updates
0% complete
Do not turn off your computer

Never goes past 0%, reboots, same screen, says failed, reverts changes, I can log in.

It hasn't been a huge thorn in my side, but now there are 4 updates that do the same thing.
I can't get a mouse driver to download now since windows updates has been acting up. Some updates go through, others don't.

I ran your tool, followed all the steps, and a few updates went through that hadn't prior.

Honestly I don't even care about these windows updates, none of the ones that won't go through are essential. But now that I can't get the driver for my new mouse installed it is getting to me.

I can foresee this getting worse though, as more and more updates queue up, I wonder how long it will be before a required security update won't pass through.

Hope you can help, thank you for your time,

Matt
