Eureka !!!!!!! I found the solution !!!!!

    I shake considerably and therefore need software to help me control my mouse. In the UI I had ticked the two boxes as shown, This in turn disabled my middle\right mouse button functions.
Thanks for your considerable time and effort. Hopefully this might be applied to similar software in your quest to help others in the future.

Oh, what I meant was, if I reverse the primary mouse button I am able to "select" with the right mouse button but I cannot get a context menu with the left. Same is true the other way around. I did that test to ensure that the mouse buttons were not at fault. From this I would surmise that it is in fact a software issue, but where?.....

     I cannot use right click in either word, notepad, nor either of my web browsers. (IE, Chrome)
I have tried disabling my (reversing) my mouse button for the click function. Reversing works ok.

Hello Shane

    I suddenly find that my right click menu has disappeared. My mouse is ok as I have tried it on my wifie's PC. I seem to recall a few years ago having the same issue and I think I downloaded something that ........merged?........? I wish I could write a more detailed essay but that's it in a nutshell.
