Hi folks,

thank You for giving me help with my problem. But after too many hours of unsuccessful trying to repair my system I decided to reinstall it. I am now in the process of reestablishing the familiar surrounding. Takes many hours again, but is less frustrating, because i am moving forward step by step. Amazing how quick a computer can start if all that rubbish, that accumulates over time, is gone ;-)

Hi Willy2,

in mdac.txt every command-line ends with "/s".

Should I leave this and just add /u like that:

%SystemRoot%\system32\regsvr32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\msjet40.dll /s /u

And is the space between "/s" and "/u" correct, like I did it in the above example? Or should it look like the next line without a space between the parameters:

%SystemRoot%\system32\regsvr32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\msjet40.dll /s/u

Thanks for helping me once more.

Hi folks,

in november 2013 I started the thread "Cannot start homebanking software". Inbetween I was absent for almost 3 month. Now I am back home and would like to carry on with the thread. The originalthread is closed. Therefore I opened this new one here. May be the operator could reopen the original thread and move this new post.

I followed the instructions of Willy2 given with Reply #16 and Reply #17.

In Reply # 16 Willy2 suggested the following commands.:
cd /d %windir%\system32
regsvr32 msjet40.dll /u
cd /d %windir%\syswow64
regsvr32 msjet40.dll /u
regsvr32 msjet40.dll

Although I tried this already in a similar manner (see my first posing from November 22, 2013), I did it once more. But I got the same results: "The modul 'C:\Windows\sysWOW64\msjet40.dll' is possibly not compatible with the windows version, that you want to execute. Check if the module is compatible with a x86-Version (32-Bit) or x64-Version (64-Bit) of 'regsvr.exe'." (My translation from original german report.)

Then, following the instruction in Reply #17, I downloaded and ran Windows Repair v2.4.0. I followed exactly all the instructions and completed thoroughly step by step. Unfortunately without success in regard to my problem.

When I try to start my homebanking software I still get this Problem report "There is no database open (DAO.DbEngine - error number 3633: DLL 'MSJET4x.DLL') ca not be loaded." (My translation from original german report.)

Is there someting else, that I could try besides reinstallation of Windows? Thanks for help.

George

Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit v6.1
