General Computer Support / Re: System runs fine but fails SFC scan
« on: May 03, 2013, 09:49:25 pm »
Well, that repair worked like a charm, I was always hesitant to do a repair. I did a full system image 1st.
But my .NET's 4 & 4.5 got messed up, just used the dot net removal tool and reinstalled.
oh and AVG needed a repair and virtualbox needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
thanks for the insight!

General Computer Support / System runs fine but fails SFC scan
« on: April 30, 2013, 06:01:14 pm »
So, my system runs pretty damn good I must admit. I keep on top of program and driver updates, antivirus/malware, etc.
But when I run sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt, this is what I get:

Code: [Select]
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of th
em.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

This has been the case for months, not sure when it started.
I've ran the latest tweaking.com a couple times through.
I've ran the system readiness update tool, as well.

Attached is the sfc  log, created fresh. I've scanned through it trying to understand it, but I don't know what it's trying to tell me.

Any insight on this mystery would be much appreciated.
