Thank you for your interest.
I already tested the new version and unfortunately the situation didn't change with the new version!
Not sure if this helps the backup is done using VSS and in the end the value returned by TweakingRegistryBackup.exe is -1073741819
On this new version the program I see a new minor glitch, when the program starts the window looks like this:
the normal window isn't hidden only after minimize then restore I see the proper window.
One question would be possible to make the /SILENT parameter *real* silent i.e without any minimized button on the task bar? Maybe this could solve the crash.

Hi,
I would say that is perfectly normal because most Antivirus use a lot of different techniques to avoid be killed by malware processes... in the end the user is blocked to.

@Whiggs: Thanks for sharing the tool.
In my opinion is always better to post a link to the original source because the tool gets updated, this allow direct contact with the Author, etc.

Please run another SFC /scannow and post the latest cbs.log if SFC continue to report errors.
On the initial log the error is related to the opencl.dll file this is a know problem o Windows 10 TH2 and need to be fixed manually, I can point you to a guide about fixing this but first we need to confirm the problem isn't gone.

Hi,
I have a difficult case to track...
Running Tweaking Registry Backup v3.3.1 Portable on Windows Server 2003 R2 from a task scheduler that calls a batch script with the /SILENT switch the program crashes. The task is set to run with the Administrator credentials.
On the event viewer there is this:
Despite the error the backup of the registry is done successfully. Another thing if I run the batch manually it doesn't crash.
It seems the problem could be related with the active session or graphic mode! because if I start the batch and immediately close the RDP connection leaving the batch running then Tweaking Registry Backup will crash exactly like when the batch run unattended from the Task Scheduler.
What can I do to provide more information about this crash and help fixing this?

« on: January 16, 2013, 01:51:35 am »As for the backups removing you have it set to only remove backups X days or older. Anything under that wont get deleted. The keep min backups is for the auto delete. Lets say you leave for a while and a backup isnt done for a long time, when you get back every backup is past the age to delete them. So when you do a backup they all get removed. With the min to keep it will delete all of them except the number you set there.
There have been a few people confused by this new setting. I need to word it differently. How do you think I should word it so you would better understand that setting?

Thanks for the fast reply. If you don't want to make the X days and Y to Keep independent then maybe you should change the text to "Delete backups that are X days or older but keep at least Y backups" and to show the dependency of options when the box for days is empty the box for Keep should be locked.

Hi,
I'm running Registry Backup Portable on a Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 SP2 and I'm having some problems that I don't know if its my bad understanding of the program, bad configuration or some bug...
First problem when I click Settings / Create Schedule i allays get "The schedule already exists" but checking the Task Scheduler its empty.
Another problem running Registry Backup with the /AUTO or /SILENT switch the program isn't removing the old backups, maybe I'm not correctly understand the settings...
I have this on the settings file:
AutoDeleteOldBackups=1
AutoDeleteOldBackupsDays=30
BackupsToKeep=2
No mater how many backup folders i have the program doesn't remove them!
