« on: November 07, 2012, 12:06:33 am »
Thanks Shane for your help to repair a slow down PC at boot & login.
My programs and data could all be reused.
Your instructions were very clear.
Your helps avoided me a lot of trouble with a complete restore
Thanks again !

Hi Shane,

I followed your instructions and made a W7 reinstallation according to the link beneath.
It took 5 hours for this operation ... but it finally worked
Everything is working again and I did not loose any application installed or data.
I just had to reinstall the Nvivia driver that was replaced by the default VGA driver

Thanks a lot for your help  :cheesy:

Hi Shane,

Thanks for your help.

In safe boot mode, the behaviour is the same.
I checked the disk C: - no error
Before this awfull morning, the PC worked fine.
The antivirus is MacAfee which was installed with my Dell XPS17 which I have had for 2 years.
I attach to this post the diag file obtained through a tool named ZHPDiag

Hi,

Since yesterday after some installation (dvdfab + MS updates), my DELL XPS17 Windows 7 does not work well :
- boot + login takes more than 5 minutes
- afterwards, I have to wait at least 5 more minutes before beginning to work (outlook or IE) - nothing happens or I get an answer 1 minute after
- I noticed some service did not start (especially event log) and some programs won't run ( dell stage to check the hardware)

I ran the tweaking all in one tool without any improvement.
Any advice ?

Thanks for help !
