Title: How do I restore the Registry if I cannot access safe mode?
Post by: Blgr64 on June 27, 2016, 12:29:41 pm
I used windows repair to make a registry backup before running repairs.
After running repairs my computer no longer boots up and is stuck in an automatic repair loop, is there anyway I can restore the Registry using the backup I made?

Are you also using Win 8.1 ?

As you are the second poster to complain about this, I've emailed Shane to ask him to look into it.

See if this article will help you to stop the auto restarts - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-update/windows-8-boot-loopautomatic-repair-loop/c2da7c96-0d4c-4e23-b2d3-bcd0076aecab?auth=1

This may produce a BSOD with a Stop Error Code which you can post.

Do you have Win 8.0 bootable media ?

I've had a reply back from Shane about this and he's going to check to see if WR has changed the permissions to those for Win 8.1

Is there any reason why you haven't upgraded from Win 8.0 to 8.1 ?
