Title: Almost Solved - unable to find firewall engine msi

unable to find firewall engine msi

this fix worked for some of it, but;

after we go back to run the MSFT fixit; we see the same error message.

See if this MS Fixit will do anything for you http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_firewall_diagnostic/

It could also be worth running Shane's Windows Repair given the problems you have which will also repair the Firewall.

It could also be worth running Shane's Windows Repair given the problems you have which will also repair the Firewall.

anyway, that msft fixit isnt working either with error massage ; 800722f8f

how to add these exceptions to the firewall list?

Were you able to run that MS Fixit for the Firewall after syncing your clock ?

This is how to add exceptions to Windows Firewall in Vista http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/uncategorized/how-to-create-exceptions-in-windows-vista-firewall/

What were you doing to get that new error code as described in your last link ?

Did you check IE for the Proxy box being checked ?

What were you doing to get that new error code as described in your last link ?

What one is or was doing is not as important as re-installing the default settings...

Sometimes when you try one fix or another action, it can produce a different error code - which is why I asked but if you have the firewall reinstated, that's good news.
