Hello. I have a rather pesky issue. KB2845187 is continuously being called through Windows update, but every time I perform the update, it fails with the following error: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200d: Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2845187).
I tried running Windows Repair V2.1.1, but the issue resurfaced when I ran Windows Update again. Any ideas?
System is a Toshiba laptop running Win 7 Pro 32bit with 4GB RAM.

Try this:
- Run WR's repairs #1, 2 (messed up permissions are always a pain in the ass), 3, 6 through 14, 16 through 27.
- Open "control panel", "Programs ........ ", "display updates" and try to manually remove this update. And then try to re-install the update. Post a reply whether or not this approach helped.
This procedure helped me ~ 4 times in the past ~ 2 years (updates & IE 11).

Yes a lot of the repairs work better when rather together, such as the permissions and the WMI.
Try those along with the windows updates repair, reboot and let me know. Do any other updates have any trouble?

I ran the Tweaking tool as instructed, but still the issue with KB2845187 persisted. So, I decided to try downloading KB2845187 for Windows 7 as a stand-alone and run the update that way. That did the trick, no more warnings from Windows Update.
Thanks for your help.

Running WR - at least - helped to enable you to solve the problem.
