Hi all,
I have an issue with my windows 8.
When trying to open windows store the message is producing: "We weren't able to connect to the store. This might have happened because of a server problem or the network connection might have timed out. Please wait a few minutes and try again."
In my events logger it produces the message: "App winstore_cw5n1h2txyewy!Windows.Store did not launch within its allotted time."
Also my IE on the tablet section on my laptop won't connect to the internet, but works perfectly fine on the normal windows view.
I've tried every solution posted on other forums to no avail, but last week I had an issue with my windows defender and firewall not working which I used this sites app to fix, I think there was a problem with registry which may have some relation to my current issues?
Someone please help!

I had an issue with my windows defender and firewall not working
That is normally caused by a virus when those 2 go out as a lot of viruses target those.
What have you ran so far on the system to make sure it is clean?

Hi Shane,
I only have the preloaded windows security - Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.
I also had malwarebytes until 2 days ago when I was having other problems and I removed it.

Try their anti root kit first

Yea it did find some and removed them...I ran it again and it didn't find anything so seems to be clean.
But the windows store and IE still aren't working in metro.

Once we know the machine is totally clean Iw ill have you run all my repairs in my repair program :-)
Have you used combofix.exe yet?
Shane

Ive never used combofix before. If you give me a quick run through sure an see what happens!

combofix is totally automated. You make sure your AV is off and let it does it thing, it can take a while. I have had it clean up things that all other scanners miss. Who ever writes combo fix knows his stuff as well :-)
