Title: Win 8 Start screen not working

I recently used the Windows 8 repair tool which sorted a Firewall problem. But, as soon as it was complete a new problem appeared and it was clearly caused by using the fixit tool. Win 8 operates via 2 platforms: desktop and Start screen (featuring Apps). I can access the internet and all programs via the desktop but cannot access any program or internet via the Start Screen. Any ideas?

Never heard of that happening after running the firewall repair.

I wonder if the Windows firewall is blocking the start screen apps.

If it is you can simply allow it through. Turn off the firewall and see how it does and that should tell you if that is what is happening :wink:
