Hi, I switched to windows 7 and i am just logging for the seventh time. I found 2 desktop.ini icons of micrsoft in my desktop. Why this and how to get rid of it. can i delete those pl tell me
-
Those are safe to delete. Windows puts them there, and when you have it set to view hidden and system files is when you see them. But it hurts nothing to delete them. :wink:

Hi, is that also same with "thumbs.db"? Of course, i have set hidden files to show option in the folder option. Thank you.

Safe as well thumbs.db.
IN fact I enabled a reg tweak on my personal system to tell windows to stop making the thumbs.db files. They bug me lol
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer]
"DisableThumbsDBOnNetworkFolders"=dword:00000001
