Strange network connection icon
« on: February 25, 2013, 10:18:28 pm »
Hi,
I have noticed the network icon in a strange manner. Before hand, the icon was different. It seems that icon has changed to a minimum. But the speed of the internet do not have any problem. Is there any idea, how to correct it. was there any wrong connection in the telephone or modem switches. But my modem and telephone works perfectly

Looks fine to me, and even if the icon changed a little it wont affect your speed or anything like that. The icons are just what Windows uses.

Hi,    A very good reply at that. But normally for years together i did not have any change. And whenever, and wherever there is internet connectivity problem, i use to go the network repair wizard and the normal icon looks different. I want to know the change in the behaviour in this regard. I also would like to tell you, wherever i have lost of internet connectivity, then only i saw this small icon on the network settings.
Your replies are treat to me in that it touches the essence of the question and considered reply.

Hey, share what you know is the mantra in this site , and i like it

Have your reboot in a while? I know in Windows sometimes things just stop working right and a reboot gets everything refreshed.

For example on my system last night all of a sudden i couldn't drag and drop any items in folders at all, happened out of nowhere. Had to reboot and then it worked fine. That is Windows for you lol

Hi, rebooting does not solve the problem. The same small icon continues.

Hi, Shane now i understand. It is the view that changes the shape of the icon. I tried and tried and at last found. But in my eagerness to reinstall , i got local area connection2 and got confused a little bit. Then i renamed and i could rename to local area connection to the windows default. Thank you for sharing your views. Today, also i could not log on to this normally . Spam warning and i have proven that i am human, and i was allowed to visit. Thank you for every other answer in this forum. Its all very convincing and useful
By the by , why i am repeatedly getting the spam warning?

Someone who uses the same ISP as you must have been spamming the crap out of people so a lot of the IP's your ISP gives out must be flagged. You could always see how much your ISP charges for a static internet IP. Then your Ip will never change and you wont keep hitting the ones that have been flagged

Hi, Thank you for jet reply. I had not changed the view, but other users would have. Regarding flagging, a little bit about how i could absorb your idea of watching , the user of my isp may kindly be given. I have tried netstat -ano, in the cmd prompt, which gives the present connection status of all the process and application all. This command lists all the present connection. I have not found any thing amiss, as internet and my mcafee antivirus .Please let me have how to watch the flagged one. I am entirely new to this horizon

The internet IP is int he modem, it isnt on your system. So a lot of times every time you unplug the power tot he modem, wait 30 sec and plug it back in you will most likely get a new IP every time

Your ISP only has so many IP's that it can give out. Since it rotates who gets the IPS some spammer who uses them got a lot of those IP's flagged.

Hi, I have registered with honeypot.org to filter spam messages. Is it enough if i register with them. What actually they do? By visiting their site, there are so many tools. I have not downloaded any of the software, but merely registered with them  as per the process.
What is the service they provide for the users merely registering with them. Would they stop spam messages even in my default email.
How to find that they are monitoring those ips that are registered with them. or Should i download any software for monitoring purposes
I do not have a separate blog or com, so that i am asking this question.
Elaborate answer to the queries, i hope, would be very useful not only for me but all the users in general. Pl do reply, sir,

You have to follow their instructions on how to apply it to your site.

The goal of the site is to see if the IP's hitting your site or forums are known spam bots.

I dont know much about it. I am using an add on that was made for my forums.

Hi,  While am happy about your reply, i wish to inform that i do not own any site.I am only having contacts with emails. Then how do i know that the honeypot.org is watching my emails. Is there any indication that they have like. Please say where to download the add on. Sincerely saying that on going thro their website, i do not know what to apply.

Expecting your reply as always

I dont know bud. This is the first time I have used it. The add on was made just for simple machines forums which is the forum software I use.

Other than that I have never used it.

It isnt meant to be a spam filter. It is used for sites and forums to block spam bots, not spam email.

Hi, Shane thank you.

So the software is not a spam filter and it does not do anything with email filter. I think that this is for the blog users and site users. Regarding spam ips i wrote to my service provider to stop the spam in the dynamic ips. They are of the view, that if something big is attempted, then the bb speed will be affected, which would not be welcomed by the users in general. I think that i may unregister from honeypot.org. Yes.

Hi,, In the honeypot.org , when you are registering and logging , it gives some menu for quick links. What it means to the member? Today, when i tried to open my gmail from tweaking.com, it does not allow. and I presume that i have logged in the infected ips. and since, i know the information from your post, i swithched off my moden and relogged in a different ip. Then i was able to open the mail, that i received from this site. I went to honeypot.org and logged in and look for the ip that i logged and it gave me information of the infected ip i have logged in the first attempt. It shows some ips and a lot of information on the ips that i logged on. It also gave me the harverster who uses this ip for spamming purpposes.

So, i want , you as a sharer of valuable information, and at pleasing and gentle mood would try to read and help me regarding what the Quick link means. When i tried to give a quick link, it shows an unknown link address, . So i do not know , what is what . The information will also be very useful for the users of this informative site
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

Hi,  Recentlyl i heard about BAZOOKA  virus, which has even sent unimaginable size of request to all the users , led to total cracking of computers. This was slated to be a electronic shock bomb virus. This has especially attacked anti spy bot spam spamhuse or some thing. So, i think it is a emerging topic . Hence, i am writing this.
