Activation in Windows7 Issue
« on: March 06, 2013, 05:23:43 am »
If I go to My Computer icon and right click for properties.  Screen for View Basic Computer Information shows at the bottom that my legal copy of windows is activated.

Suddenly yesterday, a screen pops up randomly that says I don't have a guanine copy.

It does this all day and night, yet I can get windows updates and computer runs fine.

Do I have to call Microsoft to fix this, and when I click "change the product key, nothing happens".

does anyone know how to fix the pop up.  why should it pop up anyway since I have a legal activated copy.

I talked to Microsoft and they had to raise it to level2, they don't know why I can't change the product key.  So it is not a prank or false message, the Event viewer says that the license can't be verified.

Then something in the system is broken, and since it cant validate the license, which it does every few weeks it just says it isn't valid.

Doing a repair install would fix it and keep all your programs and settings. Do you know how to do a repair install?
