So the way I have been doing my power reset was to just leave the laptop on until the battery dies because my laptop has a non removable battery

However I'm rather concerned about the battery health. I dont think its healthy to let the battery die.

So I was wondering what could be other options for this?

With that type of laptop you can power reset it by shutting it down, remove all cables and any peripheral devices then hold the power button in for 15 - 20 secs.

When you restart it, you may get a Start up menu to select restart normally.

Why do you need to power reset it so often and what make of laptop is it ?

Sorry for the really late response. I completely forgot that I had this thread going on.

Its not that I need to power reset it often. Its just that everytime I open the windows repair program it recommends me to do a power reset first. Should this be something that has been done everytime that I try to run the repair program?

I think that if you run the program after you first switch on then it wouldn't be necessary, as the power would have drained naturally.

However, it isn't something I have done prior to test running the program and it ran fine.

Has there been a particular reason why you needed to run the repair program ?

My laptop starts to run slow overtime. Running the repairs boosted the speed tremendously. So every now often I run the program

A build up in the Temp folder can have an adverse effect on performance.

When it starts to slow, go Start - type %temp% and press enter when it comes up.

Press CTRL a to highlight and CTRL d to delete.

I run the free version of CCleaner after each session which cleans out cookies and temp files.

https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download?source=cpc&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrczy0vTP6wIVwp13Ch2gIQ0LEAAYASABEgLXtvD_BwE

Click on Options/Advanced and uncheck the box for Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 24 hours and that will ensure the Temp folder is kept to a minimum.
