I think v4.8.1 update was in response to 2004, which in that case it would be compatible.

However, I'll pass this onto Shane - I don't think it would be worthwhile reinstalling the repair program.

There have been reported bugs with 2004 so you may want to boot into the Advanced boot options to use the Roll Back option.

I'm not into the guts of Windows but I would have expected to see one for 2004 but it only goes up to 1909 ?

I updated my other Win 10 machine to 2004 after creating a system image, but when I read about the bugs, I used that image to revert to 1909.

It would take me some time to update that machine again to see if I got the same error as you with 4.8.1

I've sent Shane an email with a link to your thread and will have to wait for his reply.

i confirm, having the same problems as mentioned above. No problems anywhere with Win 10 1909!

I've had a reply back from Shane and he hasn't got 2004 yet, so WR isn't yet compatible for 2004.

Once he gets it installed on his machines, he'll bring the program up to date.

However, as MS are aware of bugs in 2004, they may have held up the general release of 2004 until they are sorted.

That error message is normal when an older version of the repair program is used on a newer version of Windows.

If you ignore the error (just close it), Windows Repair will run. I assume  it will run normally. I've had no problems, first seeing this error with preview versions from Windows Insider, and now with 2004. I also see the error now in Build 19640 (the present "Insider" preview)

I don't think you should use it with an Insider build.

MS tends to change the Permissions which the program isn't equipped to deal with which could cause you serious problems.

Shane has now updated the repair program to 4.9.0 which covers Win 10 2004.
