problem with Tweaking free
« on: September 06, 2019, 05:10:24 pm »
recently I downloaded Tweaking free as a trial
in Safe Mode, thought i'd start  1  repair item at a time & took the lower left hand side ( can't tell as the computer is blank)
Tweaking ran  & then asked for a Restart -- ok
on start, stopped immediately  & I found it was missing
sys32/winload.efi
drivers/ACPI.sys
can't get a Restart at all

how to fix it -- introduce both above ?  how?
any advice appreciated

I don't now why that has happened and haven't seen it reported before.

I assume you are using Win 10 ?

The first thing to try is your restore points but you will need Win 10 install media to boot up with.

I don't know what you are using to post but if you have access to another Windows computer, you can create Win 10 install media of your choice after reading the instructions at https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

You can either change the boot order in the BIOS by pressing and holding F2 as you switch on or tap F12 as you switch on to access the one off boot order change.

When you get to the Install screen, click on Repair your computer which will take you to the advanced boot options.

Click on Troubleshoot then on Advanced options where you will the System Restore option.

The following two articles offer fixes for those two missing components which you can try if the restore point option doesn't work.
