No, stop the program and while still in Safe Mode with Networking, download and run a scan with the free ESET Online Scanner and then try the repair program again.

https://www.eset.com/uk/home/online-scanner/

The repair program can't repair files damaged by infection if the infection is still present.

I've test run the repair program and it didn't take anywhere near that time to complete so it was safe to assume it had found a problem, which is why I suggested running ESET.

Are you sure you still have Windows Defender active as in Win 10 a 3rd party antivirus program will disable Windows Defender on installation.

If it's still active then checking reliability history will show if you are still getting WD's Definition updates.

Anyway, glad things have sorted themselves out.

I don't use the store and the program sails through its repairs on mine.

You can manually reset the Store from within Win 10 or from an Admin Powershell cmd.

This article will save me some typing - https://winaero.com/blog/reset-windows-store-windows-10/
