Trustedinstaller restore

Hi

I messed up my windows 10 pro by changing owner of drive c. How to restore drive c to Trustedinstaller In tweaking.com Windows Repair 2018 Pro I'm hesitated to try Trustedinstaller (Owner/Permissions) option or is there any other way to restore windows ownership.

The program should reset the Permissions but do you have a restore point back to before you changed ownership ?

No
Windows restore was disabled.

Then I'd try the repair program but in future before making any major changes to your system, you should create a restore point.

If you uncheck the top box in the repair program, that will clear all boxes and then just check the first four repairs but create a restore point first - don't use the program's built in option as that doesn't always physically create a restore point.

I followed your instructions and just checked the first four repairs and everything back to normal.

That's great news and thanks for the update.

I would suggest that you now create another Manual restore point and get into the habit of creating regular system images onto external media.

They've pulled me out of the mire on more than one occasion.
