Hello,

I ran Tweaking Pro - Common in safe mode, on Windows 8.1 64-bit (skipping the first repair as tweaking stopped running as it couldn't complete it)

On reboot, File Explorer seems to freeze when you try to open or right click a file
Right-clicking the start button and choosing any of the options won't open (like command prompt & control panel
Task manager won't open (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)

I don't know if this fixed it or it just needed another restart
While i made the previous post I was running a dism repair in safe mode - it hung at around 20% for 45 minutes, so I restarted the computer and is now behaving normally

I've had a freeze after the first reboot and found a second reboot usually fixed it.

The dism /restorehealth cmd can sometimes take a while to complete and it can look as if it has frozen - I usually just wait for it to complete, although I've never performed it in Safe Mode.

When I run the dism cmds I usually perform them in this order -

dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

and then a sfc /scannow to see if any corruption remains.

Have you found what is causing the high disk usage ?
