Ver 4.3 and 4.3.1 Caused Windows Anti Virus to stop working
« on: November 10, 2018, 07:40:20 pm »
I have 2 win 10 Laptops.  I had win 10 ver 1809 on 1 laptop.  The day after you put out an update I ran your program and it destroyed MS Defender Anti Virus.  No restore or reset could fix it.  I eventually had to reinstall win 10 ver 1803.

The other laptop has win 10 ver 1803.  I ran your program 4.3.1 and luckly I created a system restore point first.   After running your program again my windows anti virus quit running giving the same error "Unexpected error"  could not get to restart.   I did a system restore and ms anti virus works on that laptop.

I am afraid to run your program anymore.  It use to be great.

I'll pass this on - I assume you ran the program in Safe Mode with Networking ?

I clicked on your boot to safe mode.  Not sure what your routine does.  Sorry

The reason to run the program in Safe Mode with Networking is to isolate all 3rd party programs, especially antivirus programs as they can disrupt the repairs.

Sometimes running the program a second time straight after can resolve what appears to be bugs, but someone else has also experienced WD not working after running the program.

Because of other problems, I'd advised performing a repair install which doesn't affect personal stuff or installed programs.

What was the reason you ran the repair program on both machines ?

So when I clicked on YOUR programs "Boot to Safe Mode"  that is NOT safe mode?

As for running your program.  I periodically, in the past have run your program to KEEP my computers at peak performance.  Is that not what your program does?

When you use the option in the program to boot to Safe Mode, that will boot you into Safe Mode with Networking.

However, in Win 10 you would either have to Ethernet connect or physically reconnect wireless as in that mode, wireless is auto disabled.

Windows Repair is not a tune up program like some of those IMO wrongly say will tune your system to peak performance.

Windows Repair can repair a system when it has problems or has been damaged by an infection, providing that infection has been removed.
