Computer won't restart

I was running the repair tool on my desktop  and notification came up that computer needed to restart so I clicked yes and now my computer does nothing but flash dark green to semi lit dark screen every couple of seconds. How do you fix this?

Will it boot up into the advanced boot options to try your restore points, although it sounds more like a coincidental graphics problem which the repair program doesn't touch.

If it boots okay into Safe Mode etc. then that would tend to point to your graphics card.

The only other thing I could suggest would be a cold boot where you would switch off and disconnect the power cables then hold the start button in for about 30secs and then reconnect to see if it boots.

I tried the cold start and now it's stuck showing the hp page as if it's going to try but nothing further. Earlier I force stopped it 5 times and got to windows repair and when I tried to restore  I got to the point of it asking your password and I couldn't type anything.

Can you see if you can select Command Prompt and enter bcdedit |find "osdevice"

That is a Pipe symbol before find and is the uppercase of \

If that works then use that partition letter instead of the x I have exampled and enter chkdsk x: /r to see what that reports.

Enter exit to close the cmd window and see if it will reboot normally.

Power shutdown 3 times will give you the diagnostic repair.
