Have you tried reinstalling WMP ?

You can do this from within Programs and Features/Turn Windows features on or off - expand Media Features and uncheck the box for WMP - close that off then reboot and go back in and check its box to see if that resolves.

Installing again will not solve any problems, I have all updates and the problem is only occasional problems from WMP. SFC /SCANNOW always shows that the system does not require any repair. The problem with WMP may be related to something else. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

You do not read with understanding. I had to install the system from scratch, because the clean WMP installation is on the DVD. But that does not change anything.

Method 1.

Try using the troubleshooter to see if that fixes the problem.

a. Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel.

b. In the search box, type "troubleshooter", and then click Troubleshooting.

c. Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Settings.

 

Method 2.

A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application service or startup item is causing this issue.

You may update the video card driver and check.

Method 4.

I would suggest you to perform SFC scan and check if that helps. The SFC /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

Hi, Just in case if you have not tried , try this.
Go to control panel and programs and features, if you click, you will find turn windows features off and on.
Click it wait for it to load, and then go to item media , expand, and then find windows media player there, just uncheck , reboot. Then on reboot, go to the same menu, enable it allow it to change the settings and reboot. Next time, you try to get full screen by double click any video.
