Windows 7 will not update
« on: February 15, 2017, 06:23:45 pm »
Is it possible for Tweaking to add a Windows Update Repair module to Windows Repair Application? It is often extremely frustrating to find that upon installing Windows 7 on a computer, it will not update but gets stuck on looking for updates.

Many solutions can be found upon searching in Google, but they don't work. Many times, while setting up Windows computer for clients, the only way to avoid this mess is to disable Windows updates. However, I realize this is neither a good idea or an honest solution.

Thanks.

I had problems once following a factory reset on a Win 7 laptop and successfully used WSUS Offline Update to download and install the updates.

While it only downloaded/installed 156 of the 251 updates which I think were just the security ones, when it was done, the remainder were waiting to be downloaded when I went to Windows Update where they downloaded and installed without any problems.

This YT tutorial is for using a earlier version of the program but the principle is the same -

and this is for the program download site - http://download.wsusoffline.net/

You're welcome :)

BTW - Feb's updates have been delayed until next month.
