I have always believed one should never use Ccleaner or any registry cleaner as they do more harm than good.
With this new registry back up I am now not sure. If I used my Tweaking.com registry backup before I used the registry cleaner at Ccleaner, would I be able to restore the registry as though nothing happened if there was trouble after the cleaning?

Yes, of course you can use RB to restore a previous registry backup, on condition that you perform regular registry backups ( i.e. I don't suggest to restore a registry backup made one month ago, especially if you install a lot of programs or various windows updates).
Anyway, CCleaner's registry cleaner asks through repetitive alerts to backup in advance any registry entry you decide to remove.
So, if you perform both methods, you're covered for good.
