running tweaking windows repair start component seems suck
« on: September 25, 2016, 04:39:31 pm »
so i just started running tweaking windows repair tool and it seems to be suck on "Running Step 1 of 2 <Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentcleanup>"

i look in task task manager i see no dism.exe or trustedinstaller.exe but the cpu usage seems to be going and the hard drive is barely going

i am running windows 8.1 pro 64 bit its been going for like an hour it seems

my specs are amd fx 6300

ram 16gb (2x8)

and a 7200 hard drive should it really be taking this long?

I manually ran a /startcomponentcleanup on a newly upgraded Win 7 to Win 10 laptop last night and it took about 2½hrs to complete, so just let it run.

Win 8.# and Win 10 auto clean up the WinSxS folder but when you run the cmd manually, it has to work its way through to check if there are any outdated/superseded packages.
